The Reason for the Season

It’s Christmas! The decorations are up, the streets are lit up spectacularly, Christmas carols being played and sung everywhere, and people scrambling with last minute gift shopping. This hustle and bustle has become the norm of the Christmas season. For Christians, now is the time to stop and reflect exactly why we really celebrate this time. We are the only ones who know the real meaning of Christmas. Truth be told, if there were no Jesus, there would be no Christmas.

Over the next few days, as you see and hear all the hype around you, take time out to ponder and explain the real meaning of what is being said….”Peace on earth, goodwill to men”…”Joy to the world”… “Hark, the herald Angels sing”…”Silent night, holy night”. As a believer, think about what each of these things means to you personally, then share it with others—especially with those who don’t know Jesus or understand his incredible, eternal, unconditional love for us all. Jesus Christ is the reason for the season. As you prepare your gifts, be sure to include the free gift of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

During this time, remember WHO Jesus is, and remind everyone you see of the Reason for the Season.

“And I, being lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself” – John 12:32

The first time I heard this rendition of Drummer Boy was a year ago. This is a fantastic example of a “wow” experience. It immediately aroused the Christmas spirit in me. I hope it does for you, too.

This is performed by the Acappella group Pentatonix.
